The Town Square was as busy as usual; mother's tugged their children along the streets, friends chatted to eachother fervently, and the sun just enticed more Pokemon out onto the cobblestone. Sloping winds from the east gusted through the crowd and left just as soon as they came, bringing looming clouds towards them. Rain tipped onto the tongues of every pokemon who bothered to notice, and as the scent grew stronger, the coagulating mass began to disperse. Felicity did not, even as crackles of thunder and flashes of lightning began to illuminate the horizon with yellow. The once fluffy clouds grew even more ominous and now took on a dark grey hue, indicating a storm was to come soon. Felicity watched with keen green eyes as little children were tugged back into their homes by mothers and as shopkeeps began to pack up their stalls to prevent from getting rained on. Felicity knew this was as perfect a time as any to get some food into her belly. The Deerling, who's once pink coat now began to shift to an earthen green color, weaved through the waves of Pokemon to follow a delectable scent that dragged her along. A triumphant smile graced her unassuming face as she reached a stand that was stocked with pastries of all shapes and sizes. It was attended by a matronly Miltank, who interspersed her work with worried glances to the sky. It wasn't long before she began to put away her pastries, only pausing once she noticed Felicity standing near. A wide smile began upon the lips of the Miltank and she spoke with a loud, hearty voice. "Welcome to my pastry shop! What can I do for ya, buttercup?" The Shopkeep wondered with a joy that was infectious, even though the happiness did not truly reach Felicity. The Deerling offered a fake smile, aware that the Miltank had no reason to not trust her, especially because of how small she was. Felicity used this fact to her advantage. Her eyes upon the confectioneries, the outlaw donned a fake sense of anxiety and bashfulness in order to get what she wanted. "I w-wa-wanted to buy something..." she trailed off, adding a believable stammer to her voice. the Miltank heartily agreed, turning her back briefly to show her some of the stock that laid behind her. Spotting her chance, Felicity inched closer to the pastries still upon the rotting stall wood, and with hardly a glance to the side, she snatched a pie up. Turning away, she disappeared casually into the crowd. As she got further, calamity approached further behind her, likely from the Miltank's clamor to catch her. Realizing this, Felicity broke into a sprint, nearly knocking down other civilians in an effort to escape. The pie teetered on her nose precariously as she raced down the cobblestone, only to turn suddenly into an alleyway and calm down into a trot. her hooves clicked against the grimy stone beneath her as she finally moved into a walk, her chest heaving from the effort of escape. As the adrenaline calmed down inside of her, Felicity allowed a triumphant smile upon her maw, knowing now that she would have a meal for that day. | I fell in love with your sin, your littlest sin @name words notes |
